I have a background in social science, and I am currently preparing a qualitative Ph.D. project on indicator use in general practice in Denmark. Having only recently entered the field of quality improvement research in health care, I found participating in the Topas Europe Summer School 2009 rewarding on numerous levels. During four intensive days of lectures, group work and discussions I obtained up to date knowledge about prevalent research methods in the field and gained valuable insight into current debates and challenges.
The combination of experienced and dedicated teachers with a group of participants which included both researchers and practitioners with different fields of expertise and levels of experience, made the course altogether a professionally rewarding and highly recommendable experience.
